Does this fit any vehicle?
Blackout Frame will fit any standard 2 or 4 hole license plate pattern.
Can I reuse my fasteners?
Yes, standard OEM fasteners can be re-used with the Blackout Frame. For best results it is recommended to match the hardware color to the frame color.
Is it easy to install?
Yes. The Blackout Frame system is as easy to install as the license plate, and can be completed in minutes. If you have questions about your specific install please Contact Us.
Custom county lettering?
By default all Blackout Frames ship with reflective "LINN" lettering. If you would like custom lettering please Contact Us.
Will this be visible at night?
Yes, the white lettering on black background license plate has the highest contrast of any Iowa License plate. At night the white letter is highly reflective making it easily readable, even with a tinted cover, when compared to the standard Iowa plate which has a reflective background on low reflective blue lettering.
Will this hide my plate from speed camers?
No. This product will in no way obscure the readability of your license plate. In fact, it may increase readability of your license plate.
Where should I place my registartion sticker?
The registration sticker should be placed in the upper left corner on the rear license plate, within the white boarder. See the figure below:
